The 2G’s comprise two concessions, Ginette and Giancarla, totalling some 11,000 hectares separated by some 10km.
The project is situated in the Western Belt of the Deseado Massif and lies to the south of Mirasol Resources’ Virginia/Santa Rita project and to the north of their Joaquin project – currently being explored in joint venture with Coeur d’Aleine. Other notable operations in the Western Belt include San Jose (Hochschild/Minera Andes), Manantial Espejo (Pan American Silver) and Cerro Negro (Goldcorp).
The 2G’s host a number of high priority targets, the majority of which are associated with significant regional NNW trending lineaments which traverse the properties and are intersected by NE trending faults. Certain targets reportedly offer significant similarities to the higher grade and more Ag-rich deposits of the Eureka, San Marcos and Mariana veins at Cerro Negro.
Preliminary field work and satellite imagery analysis has identified mineralization which includes brecciated siliceous sinter and silicified rhyolitic domes. Grab sampling on certain targets has confirmed gold and silver values plus pathfinder minerals (As, Ba, Hg).
